  1. Work on the underlying stress and emotions to regain control of eating habits – I work with my clients to reduce stress and release negative emotions that can lead to overeating.
  2. Take a walk or do some exercise to reduce stress and release feel-good endorphins.
  3. Drink a glass of water for hydration and to assess is this really physical hunger or an emotional need for food.
  4. Call a supportive family member or friend if you are bored, lonely or upset. See connection rather than food.
  5. Do something to take your mind off food such a reading a book/Magazine. playing a game or doing a puzzle.
  6. Relax with lovely bath or listen to your favourite music.
  7. Practice Mindfulness. Ground yourself to the present and just breathe.
  8. Work with a qualified hypnotherapist that can help and support you.

 

Remember that food in the mouth can never solve any problems of the mind.
